Terms of Use
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of this website (the “Site”), operated by the AI Watchdog Alliance (the “Alliance,” “we,” “us”). By using the Site you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. Who we are
The Alliance is an independent not-for-profit consumer education organization. We are not a government agency, we exercise no regulatory or enforcement authority, and nothing on this Site is issued under color of law. Our incorporation and application for federal tax-exempt recognition are in progress; until that process concludes we do not claim tax-exempt status and do not solicit charitable contributions.
2. Informational purpose only; no professional advice
All content on this Site — including public advisories, the news and action record, and the approved guardrail program — is general consumer information published for educational purposes. It is not legal, financial, investment, tax, medical, or professional security advice, and it is not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional who knows your circumstances. Your situation may differ materially from the general case described here. Acting on this information is your decision and your responsibility.
3. No warranty
THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, ACCURACY, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. We work to keep advisories accurate and current, but threat conditions change quickly and we do not warrant that any content is complete, current, or error-free.
4. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE ALLIANCE AND ITS DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, VOLUNTEERS, AND SUPPORTERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, GOODWILL, OR PROPERTY, ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE SITE OR ANY CONTENT, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SITE SHALL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so portions of this section may not apply to you.
5. Third-party products, links, and programs
The Site describes an approved guardrail program and links to third-party websites and products. We do not control third-party sites or products and are not responsible for their content, security, pricing, availability, or conduct. Any transaction you enter with a third party is between you and that party, on their terms. Our approval of a product is a published opinion measured against a published standard — it is not a certification, license, warranty, guarantee of performance, or endorsement by any public body. Material relationships bearing on our approvals are set out in the Disclaimers & Disclosures.
6. Intellectual property
The Site's text, graphics, seal, and layout are owned by the Alliance or used with permission and are protected by copyright and trademark law. AI Watchdog Alliance℠, the Alliance seal, and Guarding the Digital Frontier℠ are service marks of the Alliance. You may quote or reproduce our advisories for non-commercial consumer education purposes with attribution to the AI Watchdog Alliance and a link to the source page. All other use requires written permission. Third-party marks referenced on the Site belong to their respective owners, and reference does not imply affiliation.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Site to violate any law; to misrepresent yourself as, or as affiliated with, the Alliance; to submit false or misleading reports; to harvest personal information; or to interfere with the Site's operation or security. Good-faith security research is welcome — write info@aiwatchdogalliance.org before testing.
8. Submissions
If you send us a scam report, a proposed record item, or other material, you grant the Alliance a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use it in our consumer education work, including in advisories, in a form that does not identify you unless you ask us to. Do not send confidential information or anything you are not free to share. Please do not send sensitive personal data such as account numbers or government identification numbers.
9. Changes
We may modify the Site or these Terms at any time. Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date, and continued use after posting constitutes acceptance.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and the state and federal courts located in Summit County, Utah shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction.
11. Severability; entire agreement
If any provision is held unenforceable, the remainder stays in force. These Terms, with the Privacy Policy and Disclaimers & Disclosures, are the entire agreement between you and the Alliance regarding the Site.
